Stewardship 2008  Saint Mary’s: One Family in Christ

       

 

 

 

 

 

Tea at Grandma’s House – Many years ago after Grandma had her afternoon tea, she would ask me, “What fortune do you see in the tea leaves this afternoon?” I would look and then try to discern a happy future event that could happen as a result of the reading. And so it is with the Finance Committee and the Vestry as they look into the “virtual church tea cup”, trying to see the future of S. Mary’s Church based on our giving in support of our spiritual home for 2008.

As of this week over half of us have made that vision slightly more predictable, and what a good turnout it has been! But the ultimate result will come from those who have not made their financial commitment to this wonderful and sacred place in the year to come. We need everyone’s pledge  to ensure our financial stability, and I am hoping to have all the pledges in by Christmas.  Please look in your tea leaves, your cookie jars, and most of all, in your hearts as you make a sacrificial gift to God and to God’s Church.  We are on our way toward making this our most successful and joyous stewardship campaign ever.  Thanks be to God!
