Blessing of the Backpacks
Join us for a Blessing of the Backpacks at our 10:15 am worship service on September 7. Children and their parents should check in with Guiding RAY in the lower level of the parish house to register.
The children will bring their backpacks over for blessing during communion.
We are inviting students of all ages (yes, that meanscollege students and adults heading back to school) and teachers to bring your backpacks or work bags tochurch for a special blessing as all head back to classes.

Friends of Casco Bay Info Session
Location: Saint Mary’s Auditorium
This May, Saint Mary’s Mission of the Month is Friends of Casco Bay, an organization dedicated to protecting the health of our coastal waters through innovative preservation programs, bay monitoring initiatives, and advocacy.
Representatives from Friends of Casco Bay will give a presentation during Formation in the auditorium about how you can volunteer and support their mission.

Saint Mary Schola Concert
Location: First Parish in Portland
Artistic Director James Kennerley leads the dynamic ensemble of singers and instrumentalists in Orpheus Britannicus, a celebration of Henry Purcell (1659–1695), an English Baroque composer.
Showcasing Purcell’s finest music for the opera house, the chamber, and the church, the concert will include Come, ye sons of Art, a splendid work written to celebrate the birthday for Queen Mary in 1694.
Baroque strings, flutes, oboes, natural trumpets, kettle drums and keyboards provide an authentic period sound, complementing the stunning vocal soloists drawn from the ensemble. Performed by specialists in historical performance, this concert promises an unforgettable journey through Purcell’s finest works.
