Heritage Campaign: $100,000 Challenge

From November 1st thru December 1st, Heritage Capital Campaign unrestricted gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000.

This generous match is being offered by parishioners Catherine Mitchell and Bryan Townsend, with the goal of ensuring that the slate roof replacement will be sufficiently funded for the work to begin in January.

Bryan Townsend acknowledged:

“Many of the mortar issues in the church building have been caused by leaks coming through parts of the roof and the flashing. Timely slate roof replacement will then allow for subsequent repointing of the mortar to preserve the physical and historic integrity of our beautiful church building potentially for the next 135 years. Catherine and I hope our contributions toward the slate roof fundraising effort will help the Heritage Campaign achieve their 100% grant funding related to the roof replacement prior to commencement of work.”

Patrick Murray, Co-chairman of the Heritage Campaign added, “We are thankful for this incredibly generous gesture from Bryan and Catherine. How wonderful that every donation up to $100,000 will be doubled in November!”

Fundraising for the campaign began in May and so far, we’ve raised over half of our goal of $2.3 million. The Rectory work is almost complete and it’s time to begin the work on the church building. The organ refurbishment will start once all of the roof and mortar work is completed.
