Late-June 2026 Heritage update

This week the Knowles team is completing a significant section of their work on the tower but will leave us for a bit, returning later in the summer.

Heritage Roofing is now arriving to begin work on replacing the slate roof. As you may recall, we believe the various roof sections are original to their construction.  The longevity and return on investment for slate is quite high! You may have noticed the rooster weathervane was taken down two weeks ago. The weathervane will have a face lift and return later this summer. Thanks to all our donors for getting us to this stage of the work. 

Without your support, we could not have done this project. The experts from Knowles have told us that there’s no question that we are doing this at the right time. Any more delay and we’d be dealing with significant and more costly repairs.
 
We are continuing to fundraise to reach the goal of $2.3 million. We have just over $300,000 to go. If you haven’t had a chance to donate, please consider pledging! For more information on the project, contact Janet Bowne or call the front office.
