Sparkles Season is Here: Join the 20th Anniversary Celebration!

It’s the 20th Anniversary of Sparkles! And we’re going to do it up right! This year we’ll celebrate with a variety of family-friendly events including Advent Wreath Making Workshops, Gingerbread House Workshops, A Christmas Showhouse in the Rectory, a Christmas Concert and, of course, THE CHRISTMAS FAIR! Look for our complete schedule of events in the November Ave.

The Christmas Fair - DECEMBER 7, 9-1

The countdown to the 2024 Sparkles Christmas Fair has started! This year we’ll be featuring crafts by The Makers crafting group and the Knitters Corner. Attic Treasures such as vintage sil-ver, crystal & china, and vintage jewelry are always a hit. The Cookie Walk, Bake Sale and lots of food gifts for teachers, neighbors and good friends will fill the Auditorium! This year we’re reintroducing the Greens Sale during The Fair with preorders starting in November.

St. Mary’s Kitchen, our new fellowship mission, is busy canning and preserving for the Fair. So far we’ve made jam, jellies, pickles and continue to make more every week. Join us weekly to continue canning throughout the fall. In November, we’ll be making frozen Take & Bake and the week of the fair, December 2nd to 6th, we’ll be baking for the Bake Sale.

Join us in the kitchen for fun and fellowship. Pick up a brochure at the kitchen window with times when we will be in the kitchen.

If you can’t join us but want to contribute, you can donate money to our ingredient fund to help us defray the cost of creating these yummy offerings for the fair. The easy way to do this is to drop a check off in the office or use the Church VENMO account and put “SMK Ingredient Fund” in the notes.

VOLUNTEER

It takes a large number of parishioners to bring The Sparkles Fair to life. Consider volunteering – there are jobs for everyone. It’s the best way to meet fellow parishioners and share in this fun event. Sign up at Coffee hour on November 3 for the actual fair. If you can help before then, we can use you! Contact Val Kyros ([email protected]) or Mary Sullivan([email protected]), and we’ll match you up with a job that meets your interest and time commitment.

The Sparkles Christmas Fair has been a highly anticipated event in our community for many years. Let’s make 2024 a year to remember.

BEANS and more BEANS! We need lots and lots of beans to create Saint Mary’s popular Friendship Soup. Please put your bags of dried beans (any color or type) in the basket outside the Guild Room.

Jewelry Donations for Sparkles – Thank you to all who have made donations of both costume and fine jewelry; inventories are growing. With the Sparkles Spirit event coming up on October 18, it’s great to replenish our stock. Please take a few moments to go through your jewelry collection and consider donating a piece or two to Sparkles. Please drop off your jewelry donations to Beth in the office.
