Guiding RAY Returns on September 7
Guiding RAY is a fun, fellowship-oriented time on Sunday mornings for children in pre-K through 5th grade. During the program year (September through June), we offer children opportunities to learn Bible stories and develop their relationship with God. Our hope is to guide them in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
September begins our Christian Formation year for children in Pre-K through 5th grade. We teach using a modified version of the workshop rotation model; our classes are creatively inspired workshops that teach Bible stories. Regular workshops include arts & crafts, cooking, drama, games, geography, music and storytelling. Each rotation cycle is focused on teaching a monthly Bible theme.
Please refer to the calendar to see the 2025–2026 rotations and a few special services planned for children.
Sunday Schedule:
9:00 am - Childcare (free play) is available.
10:00 am - Family Gathering Time…parents welcome!
10:15 am - Classes begin with the children divided into three groups by age.
10:45 am - The children join the congregation in the church to celebrate communion with their parents.
Childcare for infants and toddlers (up to 3 years) is provided in the nursery. We have also devoted a corner in the rear of the church building into a space filled with books, puzzles, coloring, etc. for children who may need a quiet activity during the service.
We hope the families with children in our program will volunteer in some way. Whether you choose to teach, or help with a special event, your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
We look forward to the coming year that I hope will be filled with spiritual learning and growth for everyone.
If you have any questions, please contact the family minister, Meg Hurdman, by email or phone.
