“If we walk in the light as God is in the light, we have KOINONIA with one another” (1 John 1:7)

Koinonia (pronounced “koy – know – knée – ah”) is a very important word in the original Greek of the New Testament. It is a rich conceptual word with many layers of meaning including association, communion, fellowship, brotherhood/sisterhood, participation, and communal sharing. Here at Saint Mary’s, we are using KOINONIA to name our summertime weekday gatherings for prayer and fellowship. Every other Wednesday evening in July and August (see the schedule above) at 6:30 pm, we will gather together for an informal, outdoor time of prayer, sharing, learning, food and fellowship. As you will see, we will be exploring some different ways to pray, sing and make music. There will be time for you yourself to explore by moving your body, playing a drum, singing a song, and strumming a ukulele. And then, of course, we will share some food together! This is a great opportunity for you to bring your summer guests or neighbors and introduce them to our Saint Mary’s community. And it is the hope of your parish leadership that these outdoor gatherings will give us all a chance to re-connect with one another in the midst of our various summertime adventures. Let’s share some koinonia with one another throughout the summer!
